Kate Robinson is an environmental studies student at Utah State University. In her free time, she enjoys climbing, cross country skiing, and reading. She is thrilled to be contributing her knowledge to these online courses and helping students master these challenging subjects.

Sydney Spears

Sydney Spears is graduating in May 2020 with a biochemistry degree from San Diego State University. She is originally from the great state of Kansas. She is involved in inorganic chemistry research, is the President of the College of Sciences Student Success Center, and enjoys working out and crocheting in her free time.

Kyle McCoy

Kyle McCoy is a second year Mechanical Engineering major with a minor in Energy Studies. Originally from a small town called El Dorado Hills, CA, he decided to enroll at SDSU to pursue his dream job of working on the design and development of renewable energy technology.

I am studying chemical physics at San Diego State University. In the future, I hope to conduct my own research. I am from San Diego and in my free time I tutor math and science and enjoy taking my dogs to the beach.

I’m majoring in Mechanical Engineering at SDSU. I am currently a second year. I am a first generation American and a first generation college student. My hobbies include a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking and rock climbing.

Marissa DeVinny

Marissa DeVinny is a Physics major at SDSU hoping to pursue a career in Astrophysics. Her dream is to one day work for NASA and promote more women in Physics. Her hobbies outside of school include baking and reading.

Lainie Alfaro

Lainie is a Journalism Major at Point Loma Nazarene University. She hopes to become a writer who shares important truths and stories. She was glad to have the opportunity to help the team with captioning and she loved learning more physics.

Amber McGrogan

Caption Specialist

Amber McGrogan is on track to graduate in 2022 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from San Diego State University. She is originally from San Jose, California, and is interested in combining her knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering to pursue a career in robotics. Outside of academia, Amber enjoys promoting animal and environmental welfare as well as watching soccer.

Christian Quiroz

Christian was born in San Diego in 1997, and grew up in Imperial Beach CA. He is currently a Physics undergraduate major at SDSU, and plans on pursuing a PhD in physics right after finishing his undergraduate studies.

Jhovanna Garcia

Content Specialist

Jhovanna is passionate about communicating ideas in creative and tangible ways. She believes the Arts should be included in STEM education, making the acronym STEAM. Currently, she's pursuing a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a BA in Dance.

Eva Anderson

Eva is a freshman at UC Davis, where she is a Cognitive Science major.

She intends on pursuing neuroscience research and an eventual career in academia, following in her dad’s footsteps. In her free time, Eva enjoys teaching dance, baking, and playing piano.

J.D. Hopper is a photographer, designer, and audio/video creator from San Diego, CA. He is currently a BFA Design & Production student at Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Drama and is always excited about the intersection of art, science, and technology.

Pablo Diego Anton

Pablo is a Design & Production Major at Carnegie Mellon University's School of Drama. He intends on pursuing theatrical stage design once graduated but also likes to work in video. Originally from San Diego, CA, he's happy to use his video and audio editing skills to assist the UP Team.

Bridget Doherty is an interdisciplinary artist, designer and manager from Orlando, FL. She is currently working towards her BFA in Design & Production at the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama and enjoys exploring new mediums of expression and idea development.

Derek Smith graduated in 2019 from University of Washington with a BS in Physics with a Minor in Ancient Greek and currently lives in Montana. He also works as a software developer at Stentorian Technologies. Outside of work he enjoys board and miniature gaming.
